Unfunny Sahil

Unfunny Sahil is a host as much as a creator. He is best known for running local comedy and talent shows — Nagpur Ka Latent among them — and for the college vox pops and roasts where he puts a microphone in front of a stranger and lets the city answer for itself.

The name is a bluff. The reels are built from real life with the funny parts left in: an opinion held too loudly, a take that collapses the moment it is questioned, a crowd turning on a punchline. Working in Hindi and English, he handles material that a scripted comedian would find hard to stage, because the humour depends on the person in front of him not being an actor.

The audience is close to 30,000, mostly students and young professionals in Nagpur, and it is an audience that shows up in person — the shows are where the account began. That makes him one of the few creators here who can deliver both a reel and a room: an on-ground activation with a video that outlives the evening.
