Jhilmil Balloon Girl: My Eight-Year Journey as a Creator

Everyone sees the viral reel. Very few see the years of effort, the disappointments, and the personal battles behind it. Syed Adina Noor tells her story.

Everyone sees the viral reel. Very few see the years of effort, the disappointments, and the personal battles behind it.

My name is Syed Adina Noor, and I have been creating content since 2018. This is the story of how I built my audience one video at a time, how I kept going through the most difficult period of my life, and how I lost my main Instagram account in a single afternoon.

Where It All Began

My journey started in 2018 on YouTube, with a channel called Art Exhibition, where I shared my artwork and creative process. There was no strategy, no team, and no audience, only a passion for creating and a camera.

One of my first videos, from the very beginning.

After some time, I left Art Exhibition behind and started my main YouTube channel, Adina Noor, where I posted daily vlogs about my life. For five years, I gave that channel everything I had. I uploaded consistently, learned new skills, and kept improving. Yet the results never came. The views stayed low, and the response I had hoped for never arrived. After years of effort, I was deeply disappointed.

During my 10th grade, I stepped away from creating for a while. But the break did not last. I came back, picked up where I had left off, and I have not stopped since.

Every Platform, Every Format

As the landscape changed, I adapted. I moved to Musical.ly, continued when it became TikTok, and later created for Moj, MX TakaTak, and several other short-form and long-form platforms.

Most of those videos never went viral, and many received very few views. But each one taught me something about editing, storytelling, hooks, and what makes an audience stop scrolling. Those years became my foundation.

Showing Up on Instagram

Instagram had been part of my journey for a long time. Even after the disappointment on YouTube, I kept posting reels consistently. I believed that if I kept showing up, my work would eventually find its audience.

Showing up, in front of the camera and behind it.

The Breakthrough: 21 April 2025

On 21 April 2025, I posted my Jhilmil Balloon reel, a video I made with my father. It crossed 7 million views, was shared by multiple pages across India, and brought me around 10,000 new followers overnight.

That reel will always hold a special place in my heart, not only because it went viral, but because I shared that moment with my father.

Some would call it luck. I see it as the result of years of showing up when nobody was watching. That reel did not come out of nowhere. It was built on everything I had learned since 2018.

Building a Voice in Modest Fashion

After that breakthrough, I worked harder than ever. My lifestyle page, @adinaaa_noor, grew to 36.1K followers, and my content reached more than 20 million accounts.

My lifestyle page is dedicated to modest fashion. As a hijabi creator, I wanted to show that modesty and style can go hand in hand, and that no one should have to change who they are in order to be seen.

That path has not always been easy. I have faced negative comments and trolling simply for being a hijabi, and some of it hurt deeply. But for every hateful comment, there were many more messages from girls and women who told me my content gave them confidence and made them feel represented. Those messages remain my greatest motivation.

Expanding Into Technology

Alongside my lifestyle content, I joined a tech company and began creating technology videos. This led to my second page, @fastech.ig, which has grown to around 15.9K followers. It opened an entirely new dimension of my creative journey, from art and lifestyle to technology.

The Hardest Chapter

While my pages were growing, my personal life was going through its most difficult period. The same father who stood beside me in my biggest viral moment was diagnosed with cancer and underwent two major surgeries within a single year.

It was an extremely painful time for me and my family. There were days when I felt emotionally drained and physically worn down. But I chose to face it with courage and confidence, for my father, for my family, and for myself.

Through it all, I did not stop creating. I filmed and edited from hospital corridors and waiting rooms, often between visits and appointments. Creating became more than work. It became the one thing that kept me steady when everything else felt uncertain.

15 August 2026: The Day I Lost My Account

On 15 August 2026, at around 3:33 PM, my Instagram account @adinaaa_noor was suspended. The stated reason was a violation of Instagram's Terms of Use relating to intellectual property.

To the best of my knowledge, I have never intentionally used anyone else's intellectual property. For years, I have made every effort to follow Meta's Community Guidelines and policies.

I was also informed that my account may have been affected by unusual activity, including possible fake followers and mass reporting. I cannot confirm the source of this activity, but I believe it may have contributed to the suspension.

The following day, I submitted a formal request to Meta for a manual review by a human rather than an automated system. I asked them to identify the specific content or complaint behind the decision, and I made it clear that I am willing to remove or correct anything that genuinely violates their policies.

Still Standing

It has now been more than a month since I lost my main account, and the challenges did not stop there.

My backup account was suspended three times. My private account was suspended. Even my tech page, @fastech.ig, was suspended. One after another, the accounts I had built were taken down.

But I did not give up. I fought for each one, and I successfully brought back all three accounts. Today, I am active on my backup account, @adinasyed_, and I am still working to restore my main account.

Through all of this, I am holding on to tawakkul, complete trust in Allah, and sabr, patience in the face of hardship. I do not know how long this will take, but I know that what is meant for me will find its way back to me.

What This Journey Has Taught Me

Losing an account built over years feels like losing a part of yourself. But this experience reminded me of something important: my audience was never built by an algorithm alone. It was built through my work, my consistency, and my resilience. No suspension can take that away.

To every creator reading this:

  • Stay consistent, even when no one is watching. Your breakthrough may be one video away.
  • Don't depend on a single platform. Build your presence in more than one place.
  • Back up your work. Keep your original files, records, and statistics safe.
  • Understand platform policies, so you can defend yourself if something goes wrong.
  • Protect your mental health. Creating through hard times is powerful, but so is asking for support.

What Comes Next

I have not stopped creating, and I never will. You can find me on my backup account, @adinasyed_, and on my tech page, @fastech.ig. I will share updates on my main account as things progress.

With Jaqueline. The work goes on.

To everyone who has followed my journey, from Art Exhibition to the Jhilmil Balloon reel to today: thank you. You are the reason I keep going.

This is not the end of my story. It is simply the next chapter.
